HD Radio is a new technology that allows radio stations AM and FM broadcast their programs digitally, a tremendous technological leap from today familiar analog broadcasts. These digital broadcasts provide listeners with radically improved audio quality, more radio channels through multicasting, and new data services.
You will most likely find an HD radio to your neighborhood Best Buy or Circuit City - especially if you're looking for a HD car audio system. And Circuit City recently announced that it will soon be selling homes in its table of retail stores.
There are also several sites on the Internet where you can compare prices from different online sources.
HD Radio table
Five manufacturers currently offer compact, portable, HD table radios that have amazingly clear, room-filling sound. They are Radiosophy, Sangeon, RadioShack, Polk Audio and Boston Acoustics .. The Boston Acoustics Recepter HD Radio is available through Crutchfield, J & R Music and Computer World, Crutchfield and C. Crane. . The stores sell RadioShack Accurian HD Radio and amazon.com HDR has Sangeon-1 HD Radio.
Polk Audio recently began shipping its I-Sonic Entertainment System. This system has an HD Radio tuner, tuner XM satellite and CD player. Its listing price is $ 549.99 after a $ 50 discount.
More manufacturers are expected to announce phones, radios table during the first quarter of 2007. And Radiosophy said he expects to begin shipping its MultiStream HD radio in times of festivals.
HD Receivers
Six manufacturers have HD radio technology or tuners for the car. They are JVC, Panasonic, Kenwood, Sanyo, Alpine and Eclipse. Again, more manufacturers, including Sony, are expected to announce soon HD car radio technology. You will find most of these units on sites like HotBuys.com, Crutchfield, Shop.com, BizRate, Shopping.com and COM.
HD component receivers
Finally, three companies have component-type HD technology receivers or tuners available. They are Sangeon, Audio Design Associates (ADA), and Yamaha. Sangeon has the HDT-1 Radio Component Tuner for $ 199.95 .. ADA offers three high-end receivers, the duo, the Quadritune and HD Pro. And Yamaha has its RX-V4600 Home Theater Receiver with HD Radio for $ 1,899.
You're more likely to find one of these receptors in the HD your local retailer or home cinema high end storage components of sound.
