Advantages of LCD Video Projection
1. What makes mounting the LCD projector handy is that it is compact, since the LCD chip is very low.
One LCD chip is hundreds of times smaller than the three projection tubes needed in CRT based projection TVs. This means that LCD-based projection TVs can be made much thinner and lighter than conventional CRT-based rear projection sets. Although you can not hang on the wall as you can with a flat screen LCD or plasma television, you can still save a lot of floor space, and spend less money than you would have to purchase that stylish flat screen LCD or plasma set. In addition, since these are projection sets, you can get in larger screen sizes than you can with two standard LCD or plasma flat screen.
2. Other benefits of technology in rear projection LCD is its high contrast and the ability of the brightness and lower power consumption.
Limitations LCD Video Projection
1. A TV LCD projector can often times exhibit what is called "screen door effect". The screen is composed pixels Indivudual so ey can be seen on the big screen. This gives the appearance of viewing the image through a screen door.
2.The construction of LCD RPTV may seem simple, however, they are more complex and therefore generally more expensive than their CRT counterparts.
3. Since LCD chip consists of a panel of individual pixels, if one pixel burns on it displays an annoying black or white dot on the projected image. Individual pixels can not be repaired, if one or more pixels burn out, the entire chip must be replaced.
4. Since LCD chips have a number finished pixels, signal inputs that have higher resolutions must be scaled to fit the number of fields of pixel LCD particular chip. For example, a typical pattern input 1080i HDTV needs a native display of 1920x1080 pixels for a one-to-one display of the HDTV image. However, if your LCD chip only has a field of 1024x768 pixels, the original HDTV signal must be scaled to fit the number of 1024x768 pixel LCD chip (in addition to the image will be letterboxed to reproduce the correct widescreen aspect ratio). This is where CRT-based rear-projection sets can excel on a screen LCD rear-projection set. Because CRTs are not limited by a fixed pixel field, they are more flexible view of different resolutions, due to be capable of variably sweeping the image on the tube surface projection.
